If you like staying in larger hotels, Hotel Gotico is one of your liking. This is a 4-star property. Estació de França is a busy hub taking you to all the points of interest in and around Barcelona. A good photo opportunity, Plaça de Sant Jaume, Plaça de Sant Just and Plaça de Catalunya are nearby. During your stay in Barcelona, a visit to either Picasso Museum or National Library of Catalonia is more than worth it. If you have some spare time during your visit, don't miss Columbus Monument.

Pros: Having read some negative comments on the web, after we had booked, i was a bit aprehensive. however, the hotel was perfectly acceptable, clean and the staff pleasant, freindly and helpful. the location is good for the old town and not far to walk from many of the major attractions in the city. the metro was very convenient. given its central city location, it was noisy - but mostly from loud pedestrians at night rather than traffic. i could not find any pet shop at the back of the hotel yard - a negative comment i did read on the web.
