"Not for holidays"

This hotel seems to far more cater for business people than for holidays. In fact, when we complained that our window, in our miniscule room, looked directly onto a wall, they confirmed that most people here on business only staying for a night don't really mind. We were told we would need to pay more for a 'view', but a view is only a window which doesn't look onto a wall! Eventually they agreed to move us into a room which looked onto the street at no extra cost. Our booking did not include breakfast and the price of 19 euro per person was utterly excessive, although, luckily, there were some lovely cafes nearby. The staff are lovely and the hotel is really clean. Certainly, I can see this would be great for a business trip, but I wouldn't stay here again for a holiday.

"Amazing staff, esp"

Pros: Amazing staff, esp. augusto on night shift who helped my friends for hours when their wallet/passports were stolen. great rooms, deluxe baths, pool/terrace area lovely. fabulous ramblas location.
Cons: Breakfast and laundry services are far too expensive. the comparable hotel in madrid we stayed at charged less than half

Pros: Location was good but still takes 8 min or so to walk to north of ramblas. lots of cafes and shops around the hotel
Cons: The room was clean but very depressing. window was facing a wall 2 meters from the building. it was more like a 3 star then 4 start hotel.. very basic facilities.

Cons: The price for breakfast was very expensive. the room was meant to be a double but it was two singles pushed together which was rather uncomfortable if you wanted a cuddle

"The location was wonderful"

Cons: During our stay the power went out in our room. the hotel staff attempted, but failed to remedy this situation. only after a few hours did they offer us another room. the room had no view whatsoever (was an inside wall, might as well have had no window) and when i was checking out the hotel staff didn't mention it. as a result of their incompetence, i did not sleep (i was up for a few hours in the middle of the night while they goofed off attempting to look like they cared about getting us power) and did not feel that i was a valued customer. when i mentioned to the desk staff in the morning the problems, they were indignant and i had to really pressure to even get a 10% discount which was way less than adequate. if the staff were not so exceptionally poor, i would recommend the hotel. however, i will never stay at the hcc regente again.

Pros: Good location close to lots of good restaurants and near enough to the main tourist areas without being in the main hub.
Cons: Was given an internal room which had no natural light and was disorientating and depressing. the size of the rooftop pool pictured was also very misleading as it was tiny, although the view was great.

This Barcelona hotel is based in the modernist building "Casa Evarist Juncosa", in the very heart of the Example's district.

HCC Regente is housed in the historical Art Nouveau style building "Casa Evarist Juncosa" dated in 1913. Its original facade it's a great example of that period architecture with its rounded forms and its wrought iron balconies. It was inaugurated as a hotel years ago and after several improvements (the last one in 2007), the establishment combines perfectly the original components with the modern elements to do of it one of the best choices for a comfortable stay in Barcelona.

This Barcelona HCC Regente has been completely refurnished during the 2007 to create a relaxed ambient during a stay in Barcelona: resting in its rooms, relaxing with a drink at the bar, enjoying the terrace, pool and bar on the top during summer months, having a complete breakfast buffet, using the Wireless Internet connection in the common areas, the Business Center or the meeting rooms.

HCC Regente features 79 rooms completely refurnished during 2007 and equipped with satellite TV, direct dial telephone, minibar, air conditioning / heating, safe, free ADSL Internet connection and an en suite fully-fitted bathroom with hairdryer, telephone and amenities.
