How to reach the Hesperia del Mar?By car, from Barcelona airport El Prat: The best way to reach the hotel from the airport is entering Barcelona by the Ronda Litoral. Then exit at Sortida 23 and continue straight on until the fourth crossroad. Turn left, cross the bridge and turn left again. The hotel is situated in the first street on your right.
By train, from Barcelona airport El Prat: There are trains connecting the airport with the main railway stations in around 20 minutes. The Plaça Catalunya railway station is close to Plaça Urquinaona underground station. Take underground line 4 to Poblenou station. Exit towards Pujades street, cross Lope de Vega street and turn right into the second street, Espronceda. After 500 metres walking along this street, you will find the hotel.
By bus, from Barcelona airport El Prat: The Airbus bus line goes from the airport to the city centre in about 20 minutes. Get off at Plaça Catalunya, then follow as above described.
By bus, from the Girona airport: There is a direct bus connecting the airport with Barcelona which stops at Estació del Nord bus station. From there, guests can take a public bus towards the hotel area.

This hotel is situated outside of the hustle and bustle of the city, and offers a quiet, simple retreat. 10 minute walk to metro was wonderful.17 Aug 09
Very nice sea view room, large bed and bathroom was nice and big. free wired internet was a bonus, as it is usually expensive in other hotels.
There seemed to be no set time as to when the free coffee/tea/water lounge area was open, there was never any milk left and the used cups were not tidied up for re-use. but that was the only downer, everything else was good.08 Aug 09

The hotel was clean and presentable and the staff were helpful and friendly. the location was good for what we wanted although a half hour trip into the centre.The television only had one english news channel and there was no option for subtitles on the others. there was a radio option on the television but this did not work.19 Apr 09

Hotel is close to the beach with some cool beach bars and the port is only a 10 minute walk. there is a bus stop outside the hotel and it costs under 2 euro for a ticket to la ramlas in less than 10 minutes. the staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful and i cannot fault the cleanliness of the roomNo working wireless in the rooms as advertised, room service finished at 2300 to our disappointment as this was also advertised. the breakfast was expensive and disgusting and did not fancy eating again in the restaurant as the food did not impress me. we asked for a smoking room however when we arrived at the hotel they stated there were non available and that there were only 5 rooms in the hotel, this should have also been advertised as i would not have stayed in this hotel.22 Jul 08

Staff quickly responsive to requestsA few, air conditioning was non existent, staff said it was working but for two people in room not powerful enough, far too stuffy in evening , could not sleep well. no tea/coffee making facilities, not good for 4 star hotel
