H10 Raco del Pi Barcelona    

This hotel has a great location in the old centre Barri Gotic. Near to the Ramblas and Plaza de Cateluna. The rooms were clean, the employees were friendly and breakfast was fine. Only two let downs concerning this hotel. The beds were so hard that you could also have been sleeping on the ground and second; i booked this hotel 5 months prior of arrival and requested two rooms with twin beds. When we arrived they said that all rooms with twin beds were allready taken which seemed strange because i booked a long time ago. The only option was paying 80 euro for other rooms that did have twin beds. When we protested the price went down to 40 euro. What can you do? We wanted twin beds so we accepted paying 40 euro. But it left a bit of a strange feeling, the roomchange wasn't updated in the computer and we didn't receive an invoice for these 40 euro. It seemed like a trick they play on tourists to earn a little extra money. Leaves a bit of a negative feeling towards this hotel.

Pros: The hotel is in a perfect spot for all the local sights near la ramblas. really clean, great value for money, really helpful staff. a great place to stay!!!

Pros: The hotel receptionist was extremely helpful and pleasant. the room was lovely and clean. it was a perfect location and i would definately return.

Pros: The staff were really nice and helpful when we had a question. this hotel was very close to where the bus tours departed, close to shopping, close to everything we needed to be close to - only a short walk even to the mediterranean sea!

Pros: We enjoyed our stay at raco de pi,its postion is excellent for sightseeing in barcelona being so close to the ramblas ect.
Cons: Although there was tea and coffee facilties in the bar for us to help ourselves i would have liked to have the same facilities in our room.

Pros: I've stayed at this hotel a few times in the past and would have no hesitation in recommending it. it's in a quiet (and safe) street leading up from placa del pi and is ideally situated for exploring the gothic area of barcelona with the ramblas just a couple of minutes walk away. rooms are spotless and noise is definitely not a problem here. some may think they're a bit on the small side but that's kind of normal for central barcelona from my experience. what counts is that they're kept spotlessly clean with everything in perfect working order. the staff here are probably the friendliest and most helpful i've come across in any hotel though, even asking me if i wanted advice on cafes for breakfast when i didn't opt for theirs. also, they have a nice refreshing glass of cava for all guests on arrival. nice touch! admittedly there aren't a lot of facilities here (it's not a five star!!!) but they have free teas/coffee and pastries available from 2pm onwards and wi-fi is available throughout the hotel. like i said i didn't book breakfast so can't really comment on the quality of it but there are plenty of places just down the street if you needed. all in all, this is a very nice little hotel in a perfect location and despite being a little hard to find if it's your first time in barcelona, is well worth checking out.
now, this has nothing to do with the hotel or even it's location but as always, when i review anything in barcelona, i have to warn people about the pickpockets, especially around the ramblas at night. do not stop for anyone who's trying to make conversation with you and keep your valuables, wallet, purse etc. well out of harms way. these boys and girls have pickpocketing down to a complete art form and you won't even know they've worked their magic 'til they're gone. oliver twist was a bloody amateur next to them. you have been warned! be safe and enjoy barcelona and the raco del pi.
Cons: Minor... but would like to have been told that all the rooms were non-smoking. nice atrium/patio for coffee and cig though.

Pros: The front desk staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. the room was small but clean, pleasant and comfortable. as all the reviews say, the location is tremendous and feels very safe. we had no problems and were just a few short blocks from la rambla, the cathedral and a selection of metro stops.
Cons: Our only negative experience is that the hotel is full on the days we'll be back in barcelona at the end of our vacation, so we can't stay there again. if something opens up they're going to email us and have set us up with a reservation at another h10 hotel so we are sure to have a place to stay.

Pros: Hotel is in an excellent position in the gothic quarter and a very short distance to ramblas and not far from harbour. plenty of street cafés and good shops close by. our room was very clean and a reasonable size and had 2 balconies, beds were comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well and was not too noisy. the breakfast @ 8 euro and was very good, cereals, fruit, eggs & bacon etc plus plenty of good coffee & tea. the staff are very friendly and helpful, we arrived late at the hotel (11pm) and were warmly welcomed and offered a glass of cuvee and snacks. we had been to barcelona before but this hotel is better situated and all things considered is reasonable value and we enjoyed our stay. hotel arranged to hire bicycles nearby and are a fantastic fun way to see the city, harbour and beach. if we return to barcelona we will definitely want to stay in this hotel.
Cons: Not much at all to complain about; the bathroom was very clean and nicely tiled though some fittings were showing signs of wear and the shower temperature did fluctuate a bit but these are very minor niggles and we found everything in general was very good.
