Pros: The staff are very friendly, fresh towels every day and beds are made. there is a tv in the room and air conditioning. the lift is helpful as it is up a few flights of stairs. there is a room for left luggage and we could have left it there till 9pm after we checked out. breakfast was toast, croissant and cereals, with orange juice water and hot drinks machine which was adequate. it was good for the price we paid, as we did not expect a posh hotel we were pleasantly surprised.
Cons: It was hard to find the hostal as the sign is not too clear as it is next to a shop but once we found it a few times it was alright. we were unlucky in that our room's window opened out onto the middle shaft of the building and the lift was in the way so that we had no natural light in the room, this is only the case for a couple of rooms so it is worth asking for a room that is not near the lift, this was only a problem when the whole of las ramblas had a power cut and it was dark!- but not the fault of the hostal.

Pros: I was most disappointed with easytoboook.com as i did not ask for hostal boqueria i asked for hotel boqueria where my wife who died from cancer on the 4 august on our last trip to barcelona. i will certainly not use easy to book again and will paste my extreme disappointment on face book.
