the hotel is ideal for the city center, the staff are friendly & helpful, there is a bakery and shop just outside the hotel & plenty of restaurants and cafe'sthe cafe next door to the hotel which suggested to use is closed for renovation the only problem which was beyond the hotels control was the noise from the late night revelers walking past the hotel late at night so i would ask for a quiet room next time in future and maybe if they had coffee &tea facilities in the room

We did not get to stay in this hotel (Grau )--when we arrived we were told that our room was unavailable and we were to stay abt two mins away in Hotel Marvi..which was a very good hotel also. We liked it very much --it was quiet. convenient, and suited us very much.

We arrived a lot later than planned at the hotel due to reasons beyond our control so our stay was very short. Check in was quick but my teenage son's were offered cocaine outside whilst we were booking in. This had no bearing on the hotel but I would advise you to be careful in the surrounding area. We had two rooms, one for myself, husband and daughter and my teenage boys ended up in the family room. I was slightly confused with the set up and thought that it would have made more sense to have put the three of us in the large room. If you are travelling as a family I can recommend the family room as it was huge. Our room was big enough for the three of us and the beds were comfortable with fresh linen and clean towels. We had a comfortable night following a stressful experience getting there. The hotel itself met our needs perfectly. We were just far enough away to avoid a lot of the noise from this busy area. There was a few bits out in the morning for breakfast and as this is not included in the price it would be rude to complain about the quality/variety. I was just grateful of a hot coffee and a friendly chat with some other guests. We stopped here just for the night before embarking on a cruise and the location was great for this. The hotel arranged our taxi for us and this arrived exactly on time. I would use this hotel again if I booked another cruise from Barcelona but I would advise anybody visiting this area to be extremely careful with your belongings as crime is rife. A charming hotel, friendly helpful staff, close enough to all the action but just far enough away to get some sleep.

Cons: The room felt å bit claustrophobic due to the fact that the only window in the room was to a 1meter long and wide backyard "tunnel". could not see if it was daylight or night outside.

Cons: We had to move rooms but they moved our luggage we had to pack it again of course there was a fridge in the first room and we asked them to move our juice /pop but sin ether was no fridge in our new room they didn't but never mentioned it.no ice machine nor bucket .

Cons: We had confirmed reservations for 8/8/11 and when we arrived they had moved us to another hostal that was not as nice. this was an inconvenience and we were not notified of the change.

Pros: Found this hotel easily from directions printed on the booking information. this was a city break i took with my mum. we booked a twin room which was basic but very comfy & clean, very quiet hotel did not experience any noise inside or outside, excellent air con too. great location literally 2 mins walk from shops, bars, buses, restaraunts and la ramblas. great value hotel with friendly staff. felt very safe & secure too.

Pros: Delighted to have found this while surfing the hotel guides. everything about the place is welcoming. staff were extremely helpful and efficient. the location is brilliant as we only had a couple of days and returned to it several times to refresh ourselves during very hot day or to change before venturing out again. rooms were modern, well fitted and we slept comfortably. the en-suite bathrooms were some of the best we have tried, stylish designs and fittings and better than many others we have used for similar prices. the hotel is in the heart of barcelona and just round the corner from the bustling ramblas so space is tight. don't expect a view from the windows - it's not that sort of place and anyway it is much quieter than some which boast a view in a metropolis like this. so, the air conditioning was very nice to have and easy to use and adjust. the reception area is nicely laid out and just up a small spiral staircase is a very presentable little lounge area with a corner for a computer which is free to use. this can be quite handy to use for a short time. the breakfast area is split - good news as some people smoked in one area even though they should not have. however, you get the impression that the owners have made the most of every space and it is sensibly and sensitively designed all of which made it comfortable and welcoming. we stayed as a family in a double and a twin room very close to eachother. rooms were not poky and while we only stayed overnight would certainly be be pleasant for a week's sojourn. the management even offered us a room to store our luggage in on the day of departure if we wanted to. would highly recommend this hotel for any type of traveller on a budget. its location, atmosphere and friendly staff would certainly tempt us back again.
