This small cozy hotel is runned by family Grau and located in the centre of Barcelona, at only 2 minutes distance from Las Ramblas. Hosteria Grau is located approximately 15 minutes walking distance from the harbor and 25 minutes from the beach. Both can also be reached by metro or bus. The hostel is situated in the upper parts of the old city, made up of quiet narrow streets with little traffic.
Free internet service in all the rooms and apartments. The hotel has a café bar next door called "Centric Bar" where some commercials have taken place. Breakfast is served in this café centric and costs 3.00 Euros. The hotel also has a lounge with fireplace with satellite TV and internet access, safety box in the rooms, fax/e-mail service, and the hotel provides both car rental and ticket bookings.This is a non smokimg place.... The hostel is situated in the upper parts of the old city, made up of quiet narrow streets with little traffic.
There are a wide range of museums close to the hotel such as MACBA (The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art), MNAC (The Catalonia Museum of National Art), Palau de la Musica Catalana (an impressive, modernist-style music hall).
How to reach the Hosteria Grau ?· From the airport either take the Aerobus (4,80 Euros) from outside the terminal building or a train ((1,25Euros) from the RENFE station. The closest stop to the hostel on both the bus and the train is Plaça Catalunya. The last bus leaves the airport at 23.00 and the last train leaves at 22.41. The journey takes 20 to 30 minutes.
· Once in Plaça Catalunya, take Carrer Pelai (next to El Triangle shopping centre). Take the first street (Carrer Jovellanos) on the left (next to “Pull & Bear” clothes shop).
· Follow Carrer Jovellanos to the first crossroads. You will see Bar-Cafe Centric on the right. Hosteria Grau is next door to the bar. The address is Carrer Ramelleres, 27.

The location of this hotel was perfect. we were walking distance from most locations. the staff was great and our room was very clean! while this hotel did not offer luxury it was charming and a very nice and affordable place to stay. field

The location is fantastic. we were there for a weekend so did not want to waste time commuting and we did not. we were able to walk to all the places we wanted to visit.
the room although tiny had everything we needed. the space was used very imaginatively. after visiting one of the gaudi houses we realised the light switches in the room were of the same design. 
The plumbing although very good to use was noisy. we could hear others having showers as if it was in our room.Anonymous

Very traditional spanish, excellent location in the heart of barcelonaHotel room was quite small, nowhere to put your case so it ended up on the floor at the foot of the bed & was therefore constantly in the way. no cupboard space at all to empty the case.Jones

Hosteria grau has got quite a lot of charcater. the staff are very helpful, and rooms and communal areas are clean and attractively presented.Our room had no natural light as there wasn't a proper window. there is a lot of noise from the plumbing and surrounding rooms, so it's not great if you're a light sleeper! centric bar next door where you can have breakfast is lovely, but it's not open on weekends.Parry

As first time visitors to barcelona and not very experienced travellers, we wanted to have a base from which we could feel confidant in exploring the city. the grau is in a good position for doing that and the staff helped to make us feel at home.One can hear quite a lot from other guests and their effects on the plumbing.
