The Alexandra Hotel Barcelona is in a good location of the city as well. It is in the center of Barcelona, between the Paseo de Gracia and Rambla Catalunya. It is only about a ten minute walk to Plaza Catalunya and the Ramblas.
This is a booming and bustling part of the city in the key business center of Barcelona so if you are in town for business, you will find this ideal. The area also has modernist works by Gaudí such as the La Pedrera and Casa Batlló for you to enjoy and admire. In addition, the hotel is located in the best entertainment area and is surrounded by Barcelona's most elegant stores.
How to reach the Hotel Alexandra ?Aerobus (from Plaça Catalunya to the Airport): This bus runs from the Airport to Plaça Catalunya and back,The bus ticket is 3,75€ one way and 6,45€ return, the aerobus runs every 12 minutes. The whole trip takes about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
By Train: There are regular Renfe trains from the Airport to several stops in Barcelona, such as Passeig de Gràcia or the Sants train station. The train ticket costs 2,40€. Trains run about every 20 minutes. The first train from the Sants Train Station is at 05:40h and the last is at 22:40h. The first train from the Airport is at 06:25h and the last is at 23:50h.
By Taxi: A taxi from the Airport (El Prat) to Barcelona is about €25 (luggage is extra).
It takes about 20 minutes to get from the Airport (El Prat) to the Hotel, depending on traffic.
By Bus 46 (Plaça Espanya-Aeropuerto): This bus runs from the Airport to Plaça Espanya and back.

Fantastic location, easy to walk to a lot of the attractions in barcelona, restaurants and coffee houses nearby for breakfast. area wasn't very touristy which was good and it felt safe and was quiet at night.There were only 8 hangers in a wardrobe that didn't even accommodate the length of our dresses. there were no other drawers or storage facilities at all in the room so this was very poor. there was also only 1 armchair in a twin room which is clearly designed for male business travellers!Anonymous

The place was clean.This place is way overpriced, i would definently recommend another hotel. the staff was very rude, and not very helpful. we couldn't sleep all night the first night because of this terrible vibrating noise in the ceiling, but they did change our room. the restaurant prices were really expensive.Anonymous

Good locatiom ,nice staff, Rooms at the street side are noisy when the window is open. an open window is needed because the temperature in the room was rather high, too warm to sleep.vasilas dimitrios

They shut down the water onthe last two days we were there to be out of order between 11 and 5 each day. the only not we got was the morning of this which made it too late.

We stayed at hotel alexandra in october 2008. the hotel was very comtemporary and very clean. the room and bathroom was absolutely gorgeous, simple, light, and ultra modern. the staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. the location of the hotel was perfect. it is about 15 mins walk from la ramblas and the area where the hotel is, has lovely streets with cafes, resaurants and designer shops surrounding it. The morning and evening staff were alright except to one of my friend's room whose sink in the bathroom was clogged.they had to make it clear to the hotel that if it is not fixed, that they should be moved to another room. the staff didn't offer that right away. See above. HayHay

Hotel was very clean & modern & in a good location - great for shopping and a short walk to placa catalunya. as it was a 5-10 minute walk away from the main area of night-life it was also fairly quiet at night.
