The Colon, surrounded by pedestrian streets, is only five minutes away from Plaça Catalunya, las Ramblas and the port of the city. This cosy hotel enjoys a privileged location in the Gothic quarter of Barcelona, only 2 minutes on foot from Las Ramblas, a long avenue connecting the city center with the marina. Therefore, guests will reach Barceloneta beach in ten minutes. Location, location, location. in the lively plaza catedral, walking distance to the rambla, the restaurants in the barcelonetta, and the hop-on, hop-off tourist buses. the hotel is top shelf with a staff that can't do enough for you, including exchanging money at an excellent rate. and if you're into gaudi, visit the pedrera first for a comprehensive overview of his oeuvre.Anonymous

Ambiance when you walk in is stunning, and only gets better. location was amazing,close enough to walk everywhere. service was extremely friendly and efficient. food was excellent at the hotel restaurant. an amazing deal for the price!

Great location. safe, walking distance to just about everything. one of the many desk clerks, a woman, was helpful with directions and the tour de france route.Excellent location. poor service. i informed the desk right after i checked in that a trash can in the bathroom had not been emptied and was overflowing with trash. the desk said it would be taken care of. when i got back late it had not yet been emptied so i used the bathroom, slept with it that way. the next morning when i enquired the desk person said that they don't empty trash cans and it had to wait for the chambemaid. it was eventually emptied almost 24 hours after i checked in.Anonymous

Nice location, however the staff are not very competent.The hotel does not have in-room internet access. they only have tv internet, which does not allow a person to connect via their own laptop. the hotel's only internet access is in the lobby and this is unacceptable for a business traveler. the room features description on this website is not correct and should be updated.Anonymous

The rooms were clean and functional. the location of this hotel could not be better which made the experience all the better. we did not eat in the hotel as there are so many great bars and restaurants in the vicinity.Anonymous

The reception staff at the hotel are friendly and very helpful. the hotel colon we found was in an excellent part of barcelona. you could sit outside the hotel on a satursday afternnon and watch the group playing and the dancers performing. if we didn't stay at this hotel we would have missed this experience.We were given a room at the back of the hotel. this was a standard room. for the price we paid i would have expected much more. the room was a bit grotty and could do with a make over. there was also no view from the window. on the plus side the sun shone and it was very quite at night.
