I can't imagine a more perfect location in all of Barcelona! The hotel is in the plaza - across from the cathedral, in the Gothic district. Plenty of shops and great places to eat all within walking distance!! A short 5 minute walk to Las Ramblas and a 10 minute walk to the beach. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and helped booked concert tickets, flamenco dancing show and tour bus tours for us. They even summoned a masseuse for us to help get rid of the aches and pains from traveling. I wish the bed was after and that we had an iron and a coffee maker in the room. Other than that - perfect!

Great location in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, facing on the large cathedral square, handy to the Ramblas. Nice French Balcony facing on the square or side street - relatively soundproof, clean rooms, good service - but very hard beds. Breakfast Buffet was expensive (18 euros), but room service more reasonable for a la carte and morning coffee.

Pros: This is an excellent hotel, with a great location just two blocks from las ramblas and placa catalunya. the hotel provides a very high level of service to it's guests, including acting as concierge to book tours, answer questions and even changing currency. this hotel is highly recommended.

Pros: All of the staff was wonderful. very helpful and informative. the location was perfect. the overall hotel was perfect for my stay and i would definitely stay there again!

Pros: Great central location. nice and clean. reasonable value for money. i'd use the hotel again.
Cons: Went to dining room for dinner. no staff around as they were all serving drinks to customers outside. ate elsewhere!

Pros: I stayed at hotel colon on two occasions. the second time i was there, they upgraded me to a larger room with great view (i assume as a way to thank me for returning my business).

Pros: The best location would stay again and again. friendly staff very helpful, resturant food excellent not really that pricie. you couldn't get any closer to catherdal, train, tour bus,, reg. bus resturants, stores etc. euro wasn't good $100 usa brought $69.10euro festivals, arades, dancing in the square sat. nite in front of hotel and cathederal weather was rest alittle chilli but it was feb.9, 2010 taxi from airport $30euro they do not accept us dollars great little place to eat panni's also domino pizz and starbucks if your getting usa d t's...
