Excellent location as well as good value for money. the metro is right outside the hotel and all the main attractions are within 5-10 minutes of walking distance. the staff were helpful and friendly. as it is on the main road and there is a lot of traffic going pass, day n night, but still that didnt bother us, slept through it all.
More suitable for young people who are use to of living the student life. the walls are thin but didn't bother us as we were only at the hotel at night.Nieweglowski

Very convenient for the metro and also 2 cafes as there is no breakfast providedTraffic noise - especially after barcelona had beaten real madrid - and noise from the corridorsDavies

Clean rooms and fantastic location: across the street from "universitad" metro station. we could see the stairs below our window. The walls are paper thin! if there is someone in the room next to you, you will hear them snore. it seems management is aware of this: if you book on a weekday in the off season, you should be able to sleep soundly. The staff are very polite and helpful, i have stayed there before about 3 years ago. The lift broke down on our 3rd day as i am disabled i coulnt get up 4 flights of stairs, they changed our room but this was very shabby up to our original one, it spoilt our last night.Anonymous

Think we were lucky, we booked a quad room and ended up with double adjoining rooms each with 3 beds and its own bathroom
so plenty of room for all of usThe decor is very poor the concrete hallways with no carpets all give a poor impression. the walls are paper thin but we were only there for the football so were not in the rooms very longRichard Green

Clean and good location for rramblers in barcelona.Lots of building work couldn't get onto the balcony because of scaffolding poles. very dark room for same reason.grassi

Hotel condestable is a reasonably priced two star hotel situated within walking distance of the ramblas. our quadruple room (2 adults and 2 children) was ready on our arrival and cleanThe website photograph of hotel condestable does not reflect the true appearance of this hotel. the booking confirmation states that all rooms "have wonderful views, onto university square and onto gran via avenue". however, our quadruple room very disappointedly looked onto a wall at the back of the hotel. It was in a fantastic location just 5 minutes walk from the main square which was good for use as we were only staying for 1 night so wanted to be central which we were. 3 of us were staying in one room and we had 4 beds but we didn't feel like we were living on top of each other - lots of space. the bathroom was clean and we had airconditioning that worked.Anonymous

Staff were efficient and the hotel was centrally located. room was clean and big. room facilities were adequate if a little shabby and worn in places.We had a problem with the air conditioning unit dripping water onto one of the beds. however, when this was pointed out to the reception staff, it was quickly remedied. as a one or two night stay, i would say the hotel was fine but i wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay as there were not enough facilities on offer or luxuriant enough to spend any time in the hotel apart from sleeping.Anonymous

The location was excellent. there is a metro stop right by the front door and bus stops very close by. la rambla is within walking distance. the room rate was as cheap as we could find at the time of making the reservation. the front desk staff were for the most part helpful and pleasant.The hotel itself was pretty drab and dreary and although it was relatively clean, it looked pretty beat up. you could hear noise from other rooms. only two eletrical outlets in the room and the free wi-fi was unreliable. if you spent a limited amount of time in your room, as we did, this was tolerable, but i would not stay here again.Anonymous
