Cortés Barcelona  

Pros: Hotel is clean, 5 minutes walk to plaza catalunya, very friendly/helpful staff, breakfast is good. internet is free. will stay in this hotel again.
Cons: It was hard for us to lock our door from the inside.

Pros: This hotel was in the perfect location for all my tourist and shopping needs. the airport and tourist buses are only minutes away and la rambla is 1 minute walk. the hotel was spotless and the staff couldnt have been nicer. the breakfast was simple but i left everyday stuffed.
Cons: I was i a room beside the lift which meant a bit of noise but got used to it quickly. i didnt expect to have to pay €2 a night for the key to the safe.

Pros: Reasonable sized room for a single. less than a minutes walk to catalunya square and the underground..excellent location
Cons: The walls are paper thin and you could hear everything but thankfully i always travel with sets of earplugs......

Pros: Excellent location right in the middle of barcelona, right inbetween 2 major shooping roads, and short walk to most places. other than the castle in the far west of barcelona, the furthest sightseeing spot (sagrada familia) was just an hour's walk away.
comfortable rooms, and generally excellent value for money, perfect for visiting the place for a few days.
Cons: Small breakfast and no lot of choice (consisting of a bun, a croissant, some other form of pastery, a single slice of ham and cheese, a bit of jam and butter, and orange juice).
not a lot of sound insulation, i could hear the tv in other rooms and even some loud guests near reception; i was on the 4th floor!
i don't know if this applies to all rooms, or if it was just my bad luck, but the hot water didn't work in the (tiny) bath/shower.
you're not informed that to enjoy (the rather small) breakfast, you first need to get a ticket from reception, which you then hand over you your waiter.
there is an elevator, but taking this is definitely not recommended if you are even slightly chlostraphobic. there was barely enough room to fit my suitcase and me in, and the lift shakes as it goes up.

Pros: The location of this hotel is perfect and at the heart of so many attractions. our room and breakfast were basic but adeqaute for our needs and is reflected in the very reasonable price. rooms were very clean with maid service to make beds and replace clean towels daily. reception staff were very helpful and friendly. i would definitely recommend this hotel.

Pros: The ooms are spartan but if you are just goingto sleep there then that' not a problem. the location is excellent. staff are nice and helpful, breakfast is included but it isnt much although filling. i would stay there again.
