Hotel Gran Ducat Barcelona

Each metro train underground shakes the room so loudly so its hard to sleep there. not a big problem, but someone may find it disappointing.

Small breakfast room. breakfast little bit expensive (11 euro)

Hotel was very noisy.you could hear the baths and showers above very clearly,and the underground runs underneath and shakes you awake from 5am

It lies right above one of the metro lines so you can hear the trains coming into the station nearby.

Hotel rooms vary from what is advertised. some quite small. you can sometimes hear noise from the underground metro, but this is not too loud and was not an issue for us.

We specifically requested a double bed but got 2 singles pushed together. and there was also a mix up with our bill, but it was quickly rectified.

Rooms were still not cleaned at 5pm the next day when we had returned from a day sightseeing. no bathroom lotions were replaced.

Expensive breakfast. hotel was overbooked, so we had to spend the first night in a smaller hotelroom. could hear noise from the hallway (not much)

Small room no where to put bits and bobs only a wardrobe and very small table. double room bed up against the wall.

The room was quite small and facilities limited. i ordered an early morning call for my flight on my departure day but none was made. this was not an issue as i woke anyway but could have been a major disaster involving missing my flight and the inconvenience and expense of making new travel arrangements.

The elevator only works from lower level up, we don't mind walking downstairs. the room is clean but the shower is leaking :-<, we have to be very careful to stop the water flood through the bedroom. very close to metro station, but we can hear the metro trains take off every couple minutes from our bedroom. good value for great location if you don't mind the noise and facilities are slightly not quite right.

Despite booking well in advance (2 weeks), i was provided with a room which was more of a dormitory accomodation (very small room). the room provided to me initially on 22 dec was completely different from the one advertised on the website and the hotel staff was kind enough to tell me "they had no rooms left since all are booked and it is not easy to provide the same kind of rooms (as advertised)on the website to everyone. please adjust." i had to get the room changed in the night at 2 am and then again next morning. however, the room provided next day wasn't too goo either. the room did not have iron or complimentary tea or coffee making kettles. something that is expected of a 3 star hotel. i am sure the hotel can do much better than the services it is providing at the moment

Only negative thing i can think of is that breakfast wasnt included in the price but it is not that important.
