How to reach the Hotel Icaria?From El Prat Barcelona airport:
By car: A 20-minute ride will take you from the airport to the hotel. The best way is to enter Barcelona through the Ronda Litoral. Take the exit at Sortida 22. The hotel is located on a parallel avenue called Icaria.
By train: A convenient train service connects the airport with the main railway stations in around 20 minutes. Get off at Plaça Catalunya station (close to Plaça Urquinaona square). Continue by underground line 4 until reaching the Ciutadella-Vila Olímpica stop, which is located two minutes on foot from the hotel.
By bus: The Airbus line offers frequent connections from the airport to the city centre; get off at Plaça Catalunya and follow the before mentioned indications.
From Girona airport:
By bus: A direct bus connecting the airport with the Barcelona center is available. Guests also can take a public bus in direction of the Villa Olímpica district.

We had an excellent time, the staff were very friendly and spoke excellent english. we stayed in the hotel one night for the special offer meal, and the food was loveley and excellent value for money. the position of the hotel is great as it is only 5 mins walk to the beach.Anonymous

Really chic, spaceous and comfortable. great little pool that no one else used right next to gym, i could literally watch the kids swim whilst doing a work out. great views out of our window.
A bit far from the metro, further than it looks from the sea. a bit out the way, great for part of the week, we stayed on passeig de gracia, in the centre for the other days so had best of both worlds.
breakfast not included, very very pricey so didn't bother, but the centre ville shopping centre up the road also had a very good bakery.PHILLIPS

Good location- near beach and 10 mins from metro.
most staff very polite & helpful.At night we couldn't turn the lights off & was told maintaince didn't work in the evenings. we were expected to cope with the lights on all night!!! (we turned lights off by pulling the fuse out).
next day moved to another room-- at front of hotel. i found the traffic too noisy here.Anonymous

Service at the hotel was very friendly and all staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we required. the room was spotless and cleaned everyday to a great standard. would definatly revisit this hotel and recommend it to friends and family. fantastic holiday! :) Anonymous

Godd sized, clean rooms in modern hotal. restaurant food good for lunch and dinner (did not have breakfast). swimming pool and terrace area looked nice but it was raining so did not use.Not much of interest in immediate area, though not far from beach (didn't check out exactly how far as it was raining the day we were there).David Gerrish

The reception staff were helpful, the rooms were cleaned to a high standard and the outside space was great.After being short changed at the bar, being effectively called a liar and having to involve the reception staff in order to resolve the issue.Anonymous

Quality of rooms and hotel building. helpful and pleasant receptionist when checking out (see below)Gum chewing receptionist when checking in. slow inefficient service in restaurant. difficulty communicating with waitress, took over an hour for our meal to appear. by the time the fourth meal had appeared the other three people had almost finished, however the meal itself was of good quality. overcharged in restaurant - charged an extra 15% for eating on the terrace when we in fact ate in the restaurant. it was difficult to get this rectified.
