Hotel Moderno Barcelona

I was very pleasently surpirsed at the hotel. location, staff, cleanliness was very good. prior to travelling, i read varying reviews, some good, some bad. i do not no what the negative reviews were expecting from a 3 star hotel, but i think it was excellent value for money, with an army of staff, to include excellent room cleaning. fab, i'd stay here again.

Perfectly in the centre of barcelona. we could reach busses and metro easily.

The staff was incredibly helpful in showing me how to get around barcelona. they spoke english very well and were always willing to give me help.

Hotel moderno was clean and spacious with excellent service. it was also in a prime location, perfect for anyone traveling to barcelona.

We were a party of 6 girls and we stayed in two triple rooms in hotel moderno. we found the hotel staff to be most helpful, the location of the hotel was fantastic - just off las ramblas, the breckfast was excellent and the rooms were great. the rooms were cleaned every day to a very high standard. i would definately recommend this hotel to others.

I stayed in a triple room with two other friends. main benefits: great central location literally a few paces off la ramblas and within paces of two metro stations, a cash point, central bus station (where regular and tour buses leave from) and several bars and eateries. friendly hotel staff assisted us within all queuries. although we travelled further afield for nights out (e.g night clubs along the beach...) this is a great location to stay in to find out about evening activities as there are many night club promoters who operate along the street and its also a great place to meet other tourists who are also in search of evening entertainment. also very easy to access beach from here. you can either take metro or catch the bus 36 close to bridge which connects to acquarium. this bus drives along route to several beaches e.g. marbella, barceloneta etc. central location makes getting home easy and relatively cheap if taking taxi. also free internet and breakfast is a nice bonus. only cost about €25 to €30 to get taxi from airport to hotel although can also take bus to central bus station just at the top of la ramblas. a great location for young singles or couples seeking central location. despite central location, i did not experience any external noise from my room. i was very content with my stay and would stay here again.

This is a clean, well-run hotel bang in the centre of la rambla. the reception team are excellent and thy are open 24/7. it is in no way comparable to hotels in ireland where the standard is way superior however, having stayed in many hotels in mainland europe (brussels, paris, london etc.)i found this superior to the latter group. the buffet breakfast is a big plus as i found in most mainland europe hotels that one gets a cup of coffee and a croissant with some stale bread if you are lucky! moderno has meat, cheese, yoghurt, bread, rolls, cakes, pastries; i.e. it is far superior to the selection you will get all around france - and i have stayed in about 20 hotels in france! i will tell you what really made my day at moderno. my son and i arrived at midnight and when we said our name to check in, immediately the receptionist gave us the registered letter we had been waiting for! it contained two u2 360 tickets for the opening night of their tour! we were so relieved as i had bought these at the last minute over the net. it is so important to be able to trust the staff with valuable items. location is excellent! they have not a hope of reaching the standard of a 3-star hotel in the west of ireland but then u2 at camp nou...oh! definitely recommend this hotel it is perfect. just do not expect irish 3* standard!
