This hotel is a bit on the high end but it's worth the money if you prefer:-best location (7 minutes walk from Barcelona Port, 3 minutes from Las Ramblas, and a few hundred meters from Palau Guell-Room quality & cleanliness is excellent- Very friendly staff-Very good breakfast-Internet service is great, print free- water bottle is provided - this is a plus!

We arrived in Barcelona at 6/3/12. The hotel was in a central location and ideal for exploring Barcelona. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfast offered a great choice. There was also coffee, fruit and water on offer to help yourself to throughout the day. We will definitely return to the Onix Liceo and have already recommended it to friends.

we arrived in barcelona at 19.10 on a saturday night after a train journey from alicant so we were looking forward to a shower and then going out for an explore and something to eat along the Ramblas. the hotel is perfectly positioned for anyone wanting to stroll around the rambla and to visit the mercat Boqueria. the hotel was clean and the shower was fab. we will definitely return to the Onix Liceo and have already recommended it to friends back in the UK.

Pros: Only when i check out because the staff was faster than the previous.
Cons: It should be below 4 star hotel; when i come to check in at 2pm they told me to wait for 1 hr because the room was not ready yet; free wifi was only available at the lobby and not in the room, you have to go down to lobby just to use the internet which was very bad; there was too many drinks in the fridge, when i check it was already expired,maybe it was from previous guest and they didn't bother to remove it and lying there for some months;they have only 1 key and you can hear the noise when they are cleaning other rooms;i requested double size bed and they put together 2 single size beds

Pros: Very clean, great pool area and nice touch to have free coffee and water and wifi. very good rain showers in room.
Cons: Rooms very basic, would like to have a safe in the room, aircon didnt work very well we would have been in trouble if the weather was hotter! we booked a double room and go one with 2 single beds!!!! why cant they understand double bed in europe is not two singles!!!! urgh!

Cons: Whilst the staff on the whole were extremely helpful the young man who checked us in when we arrived was rather miserable. as our rooms faced the main street it was rather noisy at night but this would not prevent me staying in this hotel again.

Pros: The hotel is in a fantastic location. the initial impression was very good and our room was cleaned to a very high standard. the reception staff were very helpful. it is an ideal location for a sightseeing trip in barcelona.

Cons: The way the hotel is built,there is a central square with the rooms leading off because of no outside windows this makes it very noisy of an evening when trying to sleep.

Cons: On 1 day no hot water. the staff warned about that , it should be from 11am to 6pm. the lack of hot water started from 10am and the problem wasn't solved until the day after. i complained several times to the staff and also asked for some kind of compensation but nothing was done.
