"Did not stay at this hotel"
We did not stay due to the Royal Princess Cruise cancellation at Naples. They made reservations home for us directly from Naples. Changes were not allowed by the Royal Princess due to logistics issues. We sent in a cancellation email to the hotel but never received confirmation. Ratings were filled in due to a response was necessary to complete the review.

 "poor breakfast"
The room was big and clean with a small kitchen. Soundproof was bad, almost non-existent. The employees at the front desk were very polite and helpful. It is close to a metro station and to the town center.

 "Huge disappointment"
I stayed at Aparthotel Mariano Cubi after my parents' friends had highly recommended it. I have no idea why they did. We stayed in a standard twin room with a kitchenette and changed to similar rooms twice. All had the same problems: the beds were narrow and looked like the rollaway type you usually get when you ask for an "extra" bed. I had to sleep in one position throughout my stay. They room could use a paint job and there was mold growing near the bathtub. They gave us 1.5 towels for 2 people and no more than one very tiny soap. In order to begin to use the safe you need to get someone from the reception to make it useable, and they don't usually come when you need them to since they're busy. It would have been nice to have a toilet brush in the bathroom. Also, it would have been nice to receive a "do not disturb" sign to prevent the maid from opening our door in the morning, waking us up! We ended up having to specifically ask for one, which the main desk did not have on hand and had to go searching for.The walls and ceiling must be very thin or acoustcally inferior because we heard our neighbors to either side and above us yelling, moving furniture and stomping around all night and in the wee morning hours. The garbage truck also arrived prompty at midnight every night right outside our window making a racket. At the desk, they tried to be helpful but ended up sending us to the WRONG stations and after reserving a tour for the Pedrera through them for a specific hour, we arrived there only to learn they have no tours for during that hour, only in the evenings, and that our hotel was mistaken. Our main reason for staying at this particular hotel was the aforementioned kitchenette. However, there was no way to even heat water for coffee because they "were out" of teapots, electric or otherwise. Also, the two paltry coffee sachets they provided were both decaffeinated and when I asked for caffeinated I was told they have none. But worst of all, whenever we tried to actually use the kitchenette and turn on the electric burners, the electricity blew a fuse and we would be unable to continue our day until a technician would come and try to resolve the problem. He never did succeed to resolve the problem for more than 5 minutes at a time, and once he wasn't even in the hotel, so we went without breakfast. This problem occurred in all 3 rooms we stayed in every single day! In short, 4 star hotel??? Not by my standards.

 "Service!"
The most remarkable character is their service of the room! Perfect! But it took a week to understand how to come to the center in quickest way. Coming to the hotel is most convenient way by train L7 from placa catalonia to station GRACIA, dont use the metro fontana, because it is easy to loose your way

 "Not a four star product"
I stayed in the hotel for four nights. The room was spacious but the bath seal joints were black with mould around the shower panel. The restaurant was meant to be open till 10pm but would not serve food at 2120. We were offered a frozen pizza which was the only thing that they were prepared to offer. Very noisy room next to lift and below a flat where the occupants moved furniture until 0100 in the morning making scrapping noises. The conference room was not offered even at a price as the duty manager could not advise us so we used the reception area for our meetings. No offer of coffee for two hours!

"very good but to much noise"
Very good and nice hotel. Very good breakfast buffet. Nice and clean room. Helpfull staff. But the walls, floor and ceiling seems to be made of cardboard. There is a big need for noise isolation. It's really a pity for this nice hotel.

 "Aparthotel Mariano Cubi"
First the positive:The hotel was in a great neighbourhood and the staff went above and beyond to assist in any way they could. The room was clean and in good conditions. Although the breakfast room was always busy the food items were constantly replaced when finished and the food was generally of good quality. The negative:The hotel is very noisy, the walls are thin and the doors offer no sound insulation from the corridor so you hear everyone passing the room. We found it quite hard to sleep because of this. The rooms were a little dark and the hotel has no view apart from of the neighboring apartments.

 "great, friendly hotel."
very friendly staff, were always available. Excellent room facilities and only 5 mins from nearest metro at gracia. kitchenette area was very useful for us as we had a young child and there was a supermarket and corner shop very closeby so even easier at breakfast times. Even though the hotel was in a quieter area of the city, there was still a fair amount of motorbike noise at night. Also the air conditioning was either not working or not switched on, was ok in march when we went, but in the summer months may be uncomfortable.

 "Comfortable and good value"
Despite our reservation we were sent to another hotel for the first night that was low standard, but the rest of our stay was pleasent, large room, clean, friendly service. There was a bottle-neck at the breakfast room at the week-end; the service was working very hard but it was not enough space to serve all guests..

 "Barcelona trip"
I had read that this hôtel was convenient to central Barcelona, which it wasn't. Yes, it was near à very dreary metro station fortunately it was just as cheap to take à taxi. If you are travelling with à baby check out how many baby seats are available, they only appeared to have à total of 3. We had to wait until one became free which was sometimes longer than was acceptable. Value for money was missing. Tea making was primative, no electric kettle just à wobbly sauce pan on an electric hob.

 "Seven miserable nights!"
Returned last weekend from a week at this Aparthotel and have had seven miserable nights! Only stay here if you can sleep through an earthquake. We chose the hotel because it was not in the busy, tourist 'hotspots', so anticipated a quieter area. Apart from bin collection at 3 a.m. at night (we were on the front corner of the hotel), banging doors and screaming kids, other 'noise pollution' came from our neighbours 'intimate relations' through the paper thin walls. There were some positive aspects - the room, although a bit shabby, was always clean & tidy on our return. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast selection was reasonable and catered for all tastes. The transport links made it easy to travel the city if you feel confident about using local transport - if not - then this is not the accommodation for you.We felt that it does not warrant the four stars it has been awarded and does not give value for money.TIP - Don't be stupid enough to suffer in silence like we did - ask (firmly, but politely) to be moved if you experience problems.

 "Enjoyed a lot"
We spent 5 days in this hotel and found that it was the less expensive for a 4 stars. Very nice, clean and calm room. 2 metro stations from plaza Catalunya or taxi for 4/5 euros. No room service but you can have à little meal in your room as there is à supermarket at 10 meters of the hotel and as it is an "aparthotel" with stove, pans, dishes, coffee, the. Extremely nice and helpful people at the reception desk. We will certainly come back.
