 "Basic but cheap"
Room was clean enough but lock to balcony was broken. Window right onto las ramblas. Great if you want to party but not great for sleeping. No fan in the room so trade off between a quiet room versus a cool room. Very cheap though for getting own room.

 "you find better ones"
ok, the rambla is an expensive area and compared to other parts of spain barcelona is an expensive town. if you commute to city you can find better and cheaper ones in the periphery.

 "Better options available"
I made the mistake not to look at the reviews of this place, otherwise I wouldn't even put my feet in there. The only good thing about it was the location, direct access to Las Ramblas. The place was dark, the sheets in beds weren´t very well clean, the TV wasn't working properly, no bathroom in the rooms, had to use a common one, no towels in the rooms, we couldn't access the free wi-fi in the rooms and the worst was the noise, even with the windows closed we couldn't sleep, although is comprehensive due to the location.Glad i only stayed one night there, very bad experience

"Dont expect 5* star for 27 Euros a night!"
the previous trip advisor reviews have pretty much got it right, but why do people think they can get luxury on the cheap? I knew I would only want to stay one night, so to stay in the centre of Barcelona on a Saturday night for 27 Euros, im not complaining at all. I found another hotel i could afford for the sunday and monday nights.I had a private room, the tv didnt work but i didnt come to Barca to watch TV. the lady at reception made an effort to fix it but it was 1am so I didnt expect her to do anything!Although it could do with updating it was actually quite clean. I would def advise them to put a handrail next to the shower though, stepping down from a wet shower onto slippery tiles was death defying. i was a bit worried that I had to leave my key in reception when i went out but i didnt leave valuables in my room. so if you like peace of mind and a few home comforts when you go away, then pay for it and go elsewhere. if you want somewhere to crash after partying/sightseeing etc then go for it.

 "Hotel from Hell"
Due to a recent fall I had three broken ribs and a dislocated collar bone, by the time we reached the Pension I was exhausted and feeling very unwell. were it not for this I would not have gone over the threshold. The entrance to the Pension was a narrow passageway between two shops and then two flights of dirty broken tilled stairs to a doorway that was to what had been an apartment. Once inside, reception was a hole in a wall to a small dingy office, after booking in we were shown to our room which contained a double bed, a cheep and nasty looking shower cubicle stood against a wall, a sink with cold only water, and nothing else. The only lighting was a short strip light over the sink and this controlled by a switch beside the door, no carpets no rugs. The toilet, shared by god knows how, many was down the hall. There were two seven foot wooden shutters opening onto seven foot french doors, unfortunately none of these would close properly so there was no way of keeping out the noise from the very busy walkway below between two buildings. We were woken countless times throughout the night until five in the morning by drunken revelers using this passageway.I am 74 years old and have visited many countries, I can honestly say this is my worst ever experience of being accommodated.

"Low price, good location, but poor equipment"
Low price, good location, but poor equipment, especially the noise in the night from the window and the outside of the door. Howerver 27 euros per night, we can't expect too much.

"For euro 16, i would not expect better! the elderly lady at the night in..."
Pros: For euro 16, i would not expect better! the elderly lady at the night in the reception (7th december) gave a feeling of safety and comfort.
Cons: No negative experience, but it took lot of time to find the hotel. a visible sign-board outside will help guests. even google earth failed to show the correct location (it showed the hotel in the other side of the road).

 "Good location"
Pros: Good location
Cons: The hotel was in a great location and was at a great price. however it was a complete dive. the shower didn't stay on the wall only one of our rooms had a bathroom and the safe didn't work. the locks on the door could have been opened with a bit of force.

 "Close to everything"
Pros: Close to everything
Cons: Where to start? the staff don't speak any english, the place is harder to find than a needle in a hay stack, outside is very noisy all night, wifi is very slow, no adaptors for international plugs, and the building is very run down.

"The location was perfect for us and the staff was friendly"
Pros: The location was perfect for us and the staff was friendly. the room we happened to get was quiet (a surprise since it's on las ramblas)!
Cons: Many, many stairs to climb to get there (no elevator). don't stay here unless you can climb a lot of stairs and handle your luggage. also, room was so small we barely had space to store our luggage.
