"Stylish hotel, good location, noisy at night"
Although this hotel is well placed, just off the Rambla, it was very noisy at night. We had to wear ear plugs to block out the noise of revellers, even at 3 in the morning. This may have been because our room was right at the front but not great with kids!We took breakfast on 1 morning but didn't repeat it, preferring to go out to one of the many cafes so we didn't have to queue for a cup of coffee! It was buffet style and poor quality.Beds very comfy and spacious rooms, appreciated laptop in room.

"The position and cleanliness of the hotel were very good"
Pros: The position and cleanliness of the hotel were very good.
Cons: I feel that the bedrooms are in need of a redecoration.
the shower screen in room 1101 needs to be bigger to avoid the floor getting soaked.

"The hotel was under a very large construction project and therefore noisy..."
Pros: The hotel was under a very large construction project and therefore noisy and dusty in the courtyard. the website did not inform us of the construction and if we had know about it we would not have booked during this period of time. also the hallways to the room were not clean. however, the staff responsible for cleaning our room was very good. also there is a woman concierge (sorry i forgotten her name) who was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

"When we got to this hotel that we booked 6 months in advance through easy..."
Pros: When we got to this hotel that we booked 6 months in advance through easy to book, they said they did not have our booking. they saw our confirmation note that i had a copy of and agreed to put us in their sister hotel as they were full. so, actually we didn't end up in this hotel, but apparently their almost identical sister hotel further away (this one is in la rambla, a perfect location, but the other one was a 20+ min walk away from there and not where we wanted to be.
hotel was really nice and modern, with free wifi and even a laptop in the room to use (in petit palace museum and i assume the same in petit palace opera). kids thought this was fab. bed comfortable but see note on negatives re the childrens' sleeping arrangements.
Cons: Not sure what the problem was with our booking, but i think they double booked us.
the bed set up (may be the same in this hotel) at the petit palace museum where we ended up, was a bunk arrangement for the children but they had no bed guards. they were exceptionally high up and had no sides at all. my husband slept in it instead of one of the children and he didn't feel very safe up there!

"The location was spot on"
Pros: The location was spot on.
Cons: There was buliding working being carried out, this made a lot of buliding dust , that was not claen in the 4 days we were there! we made hotel staff aware and all they did was to aurgue that it had when clearly it had not, the whole point of the opera gargen was to sit in them on a night with a drink and relax, however again all seats and seating area was covered in building dust. i would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

"The location was wonderful, just a few feet from la rambla"
Pros: The location was wonderful, just a few feet from la rambla. the staff spoke pretty good english and we had little trouble communicating. we loved the computer provided & wifi in the room. they were also very helpful by printing out our boarding passes there in the office.
Cons: We had issues with the whirlpool tub & shower controls, but to be fair, we were too tired to ask someone up to show us how to use them so we just muddled thru.

Pros: Glad we booked it with supposedly 80% discount, because the room was not worth their suggested over 350 euros a night
Cons: Even though they seem to have renovated the rooms, they are aging very quickly. ikea furniture doesn't last long, especially in a hotel room.

"Location is the best part about this hotel it is located about half way up..."
Pros: Location is the best part about this hotel it is located about half way up 'las ramblas' on the gothic side.
Cons: We booked a 'high tech' room and didn't get what we booked, there wasn't a trouser press or a static bike as discribed on the internet at the time of booking. on check out they wanted me to pay the internet booking price even though they aggreed that i didn't get the room i booked. after a bit of lost in translation the hotel manager reduced the amount we had to pay, but i still think we over paid. given it was a very busy weekend in barcelona i think i was lucky to get that reduction.

"We liked the location of the hotel and the "high tech" stuff was cool"
Pros: We liked the location of the hotel and the "high tech" stuff was cool. so was the courtyard.
Cons: The hotel is in some disrepair, and the double bed was just two twins pushed together which meant if you usually sleep in the middle, you were going to fall through.
