While the Antiqua Estacion del Norte stops at Barcelona's city center, it's hub is actually located on Xativa Street in Valencia, Spain. It was built between 1909 and 1917 and designed by Demetrio Ribes. Whether you catch the train in Valencia or Barcelona is no matter, you will get to see the beautiful station in each. The central halls of both feature the bright mosaics common to the land and these in particular are set in stone to look like delicate flowers, a wonderful and artistic accomplishment to make stone and cement look so delicate.

If you go on a weekend, you will have a lot more room. Romantic or not, these are still the main commuter trains for the locals to get to and from work!
