Sants train station is part of the biggest station in Barcelona. The huge train station is shaped like a rectangle, and trains leave every thirty minutes from Sants to destinations in and around the city. For a tour of the outskirts of the city, the train is an excellent way to sightsee the countryside without getting lost, as all of them return to the station eventually. Located west of the center of Barcelona, The main floor consists mostly of shops and a ticket window running down the center of the building. The next level holds the train bays. The ticket sellers are helpful to the tourists, simply purchase your ticket and they can tell you which escalator to take down to your train.

As long as you get on the right escalator, you will catch the correct train. If you are still confused, the information booth next to the ticket windows can provide you with exact information as to how to get to your hotel or the part of the city that you want to tour first. A quick warning, the station is currently under going some renovation, so if you plan on taking the train, contact the information for tourists in Barcelona first. It could save you some time.
