Paseo de Gracia, also known as Passeig de Gracia, is located in central Barcelona and contains many of the city’s finest architectural structures. The L’Eixample district was designed in the early 19th century and over time numerous stunning examples of Modernist architecture were built. For example, two of the greatest works of architect Antoni Gaudí can be found here – the Casa Batlló and the Casa Milà. Casa Milà displays one of the most unique sets of architectural features, including undulating walls, iron balconies and a set of chimneys that are modeled after soldiers. Staying here puts you in a great position for shopping excursions in the city.
Further striking architectural features of Paseo de Gracia include the unusual Casa Batlló, which is a building that has no straight lines. Other wonders include Casa Lleó Morera, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, and Casa Ramon Casas, designed by Antoni Rovira i Rabassa. There are numerous shops and restaurants along the main boulevard and many visitors looking for a romantic area choose L’Eixample. After strolling through the streets and visiting the fascinating buildings, there are still two more adventures in store. The Musea del Perfum tells the history of perfume bottles and perfumery. You can also enjoy a classical music concert at the Teatre Tivoli.
