Berga is a small town in the region of Catalonia, in northeastern Spain. It is home to 15,753 inhabitants. The town is old, indeed, so old that it was mentioned by Livy as the stronghold of the Bergistani, an ancient Iberian tribe that fought the Romans.
Every year during the feast of Corpus Christi, the town hosts a festive five-day celebration known as La Patum de Berga, or "La Patum." Costumed, masked figures dance in the streets of the city, accompanied by drum music, making mystical gestures, in a tradition going back to the religious theatrical performances of the Middle Ages. Other Berga attractions include the Molina and Masella ski resorts, which offer skiing in the surrounding Pyrenees mountains. Another attraction is the Berga Opera House, which is close to several of the hotels in Berga. These and other Berga hotels are bookable on the Internet, via sites like EasyToBook.com, which let users book Berga cheap hotels and discount hotels in Berga from their homes.
