Located in the southern region of Andalucia of Spain is the town of Rota. The town of Rota is located in the province of Cadiz and within close driving distance to Sevilla, Granada, Gibraltar and Malaga. The region of Andalucia and the Costa del Sol (Coast of Sun) attract several vacationer every year. Rota is a small whitewashed town made up of over 25,000 inhabitants and is located directly on the Atlantic coast. Playa Rompidillo and the Rota Beach are the main beaches in the area where visitors come. Some sites in the town that are worth seeing is the Plaza Triumfo where you can see the Virgon del Rosario, a restored statue of Rota’s patron saint. There is also the Rota Memorial Monument built to honour those lives that were lost in a shipwreck in 2004. Rota is home to a large Naval Base that is also worth looking at.
