Benicàssim is a small town of 16,584 along Spain's Costa de Azahar, or "Orange Blossom Coast," in the region of Valencia in the east of the country. The town right next to the Mediterranean sea, and features a commercial port, a marina, and a beach resort. Every July, thousands of young hipsters flood the Benicàssim hotels due to the celebration of the Benicàssim International Festival, which features alternative music performances, independent movies, art openings, and fashion shows.

The major attractions of Benicàssim are Heliopolis Beach for swimming and promenading; the Santo Tomas de Villaneuva church, for its neoclassical architecture and religious frescoes; and the Villa Route, for its glimpse of the surface lives of the magnificent old families that once lived here. The Villas Route is divided into the "Hell Route" and the "Celestial Court Route." The villas along the former route were infamous for the decadent behavior of their inhabitants.
