Pros: The hotel lived up to our expectations having read reviews from other travellers. it has character and the location is great for the train station to make day trips to barcelona, girona and figueres (for the dali museum). we ate in the bar, which was fine (but see below about the menu). the reception staff are really helpful and spoke better english than we had been lead to expect.
Cons: The website said we had booked the last room available, but the place was virtually deserted which was a bit odd, but didn't affect our stay. the outdoor pool (which was very nice) was not open before 10 and closed earlier than advertised, which meant we had little chance to enjoy it. we didn't bother with the spa which seemed expensive for what was on offer. take a dictionary to be able to understand the menus (unless you're fluent in spanish) as the waitresses don't speak english!
