Cartaya is a town of 16,042 inhabitants located in the region of Andalusia, Spain. The center of town is located inland, 6 kilometers away from Andalusia's Costa de Luz. However, the town does extend out to the shore. It's a warm, vaguely touristy town, surrounded by more than 12,000 hectares of protected pine forests that prevent the area from being developed as much as some of the other tourist-friendly resort towns in Spain.
