Foz is a coastal town in the Galician province of Lugo, and home to some of the finest seafood and surfing the region has to offer. The village is linked in history to the Ancient Province of Mondonedo and is rumoured to be the arrival point for Britons fleeing their homeland during the Dark Ages of the fifth and sixth Centuries. The Romanesque cathedral of St Martin is situated 5km from here, a declared National Monument and the oldest cathedral that is still preserved in Spain, dating back to the ninth Century.

EasyToBook.com offers budget hotels and discount hotels as well as more classy accommodation, and can start your trip off easily by booking in advance. But don't forget your camera - the Foz area is also home to the former fortress of Marshal Peter Pardo of Cela, the last feudal Lord Galician to succumb to the Catholic Kings, and a spot where the views simply have to be seen to be believed. Beautiful landscapes can be viewed from the site, which is 460m in altitude and the perfect place for the budding photographer to take some memorable shots.
