Pros: Very good location
Cons: The air con in the room wasn't working, as a result the room was too hot. as the hotel is on a main road we couldn't open the window as there was too much noise.
the bathtub in the room was blocked.
the door of the freeze in the room was broken, had to put a chair in front of it to keep it closed.
we informed the hotel staff about the problems and the only one they fixed was the freeze door.
the air con didn't work during our 3 night stay there and the bathtub remained blocked.

Cons: The coffee shop did not open until 11 am. should be open before this for people that only require a cup of coffee in the morning when they get up and not a full breakfast.

Pros: Very polite and accomodating staff! they accomodated our every request from iron/ironing board to holding our luggage before and after check in to give us time to explore the city. they also accomodated us by giving us a room in the back of the hotel off the busy street as we are light sleepers. i would recommend this hotel to my friends and family!

The excellent location of Catalonia Gran Vía Madrid, very close to the Prado Museum and the Thyssen Gallery, makes it possible to take full advantage of Madrid’s cultural attractions. The Gran Via Catalonia Hotel features 185 rooms, spread over 7 floors. All rooms have high-quality amenities such as air-conditioning, a TV with interactive satellite television and Canal+, piped-in music, a radio, telephone, free wireless Internet connection (Wi-Fi), a minibar, and a safe.
