How you can get to Hotel Convencion
From Madrid Barajas Airport: Take
metro line 8 direction 'Nuevos Ministerios' and change metro at the last stop. Change
to metro line 6 and get off at metro stop ‘O’Donnell’. The hotel is a short walk from here.
From Barajas Airport, by bus: A new airport bus service runs from all
four terminals of Barajas Airport to Madrid city centre, stopping at Atocha
Station and the corner of Calle O’Donnell and Calle del Doctor Esquerdo. The
service runs 24hrs, every 15 minutes during the daytime and every 35 minutes at
night, and costs EUR 2.00. From the corner of Calle O’Donnell and Calle del
Doctor Esquerdo, this hotel can easily be walked to.

Cons: Difficulty with 3 members of staff in the coffee lounge, stood doing nothing and objected to serving us coffee outside their immediate area, seven of us therefore went to a cafe bar outside the hotel nearby. incident happened near the soft furnishings.
Cons: This hotel is a bit dated and generally bit scruffy could do with an update. but fine if you just want a night or so.
Cons: The room window had no view at all - faced a brick wall. free wi-fi is only available in the lobby for 30 minutes a day.
Cons: Very noisy on saturday night as it backs onto a club. rooms were quite dated but adequate as it was only really a bade to sleep in for a weekend city break.
Cons: Continental breakfast expensive
Cons: One person at the front desk, when i came to him with a problem with confirming plane reservations for my return trip home, acted as if he could not be bothered with my petty problem, and suggested i contact a travel agent. it was not a small problem to me. in addition, although free wifi was advertised, it was not revealed until after i arrived there that this was only for 30 minutes every 24 hours. when i was trying to make my return trip travel arrangements, this was not enough.
finally, i would like to say that the one person working at the front desk did not represent all of that staff. others were very kind and polite.
Cons: Old black/white tv. did not know they were still in use! mini
bar not in use.
Cons: The first night i noted that one sink was very mucky and there was significant dust around the tv area. the beds were rather hard!
