"First trip to Madrid incorporating Real Madrid v Man Utd."
The directions from airport to hotel 5stars, although I would recommend getting the bus from Terminal 1 to Canillias then take the metro to Cuidad Lineal, hotel is 200 yds away.Buy the flexiticket, which allows you to travel by metro, train or bus, over a set amount of days. 2 minute walk from hotel to metro, restaurants, shops and other amenities 5stars. The Alacalanorte precinct has a good range of shops, a nice local Italian restaurant does lovely meals at 2 for 1.Hotel Arturo - Martha and reception staff are all very friendly and knowledgeableCleaners do a great job. The breakfast ladies put on a lovely, fresh breakfast and as always in Spain the orange juice is like nectar, 5/5. When we booked we requested the type of room featured, (annexeroom) as we have two teenage girls who probably would have appreciated some privacy. We were a wee bit disappointed at this, if we had been staying for longer than 4 nights we probably would have asked for an upgrade. The hotel was more than adequate for what we needed it for, the rooms were cleaned every day, there was a minibar which we stocked with local produce in lieu of the lack of coffee making facilities. It was a comfortable place to return to after days of sightseeing around Madrid. The shower was an absolute pleasure, and the main reason for choosing the hotel. The hideaway bed was tempermental to begin with.I would have really appreciated having tea/coffee making facilities, again a nighttime drink for children would be nice without having to worry about facing further charges. Tea and coffee making facilities are pretty much standard in any hotel as a courtesy extra.Sightseeing- the Royal Palace and Cathedral, both are significant displays of the beautiful intricacies of Spanish architecture. The Cathedral is home to many beautiful paintings and for a small donation well worth a visit. Inside the Cathedral the domed ceiling and geometric style stained glass windows make for interesting viewing for anyone interested in art.Temple of Debod - as with any area off Madrid, the parks are as much a work of art.The Prado is a must, husband and daughter would argue that the Santiago Bernebeu was more important.Watch out for the pickpockets on the metro, other than that enjoy your stay at the hotel Arturo.

 "Excellent Hotel!"
Hotel High Tech Arturo Soria was in a quiet location and just a minute's walk from a large shopping centre, a number of shops and cafés and the metro station Ciudad Lineal. For any tourists staying here, I would recommend purchasing a Tourist Travel Pass for the metro which work out a lot cheaper than buying individual tickets each time you use the metro. It was relatively easy to find the hotel when arriving from the metro station, it's beside the Irish pub, The Irish Corner. The staff were extremely friendly, patient and helpful and could speak English very well, as well as being able to understand our attempts to speak Spanish. They also gave us useful maps of the city when we arrived and kindly gave us directions to landmarks in Madrid when we asked, showing us the best metro route to take.I stayed in a quadruple with some friends, the beds were relatively comfortable and the room came complete with a TV, laptop with free WiFi, IPod speakers, an exercise bike and air conditioning. For a couple of days staying in the hotel the WiFi stopped working but this wasn't a problem as we spent most of our time exploring the city anyway. Once we checked out of the hotel we were able to leave our suitcases in a secure room as our flights didn't leave until later in the day.Overall I'd say this hotel was excellent value and I'd definitely stay here again if I return to the city.

"The staff were very friendly and really went out of their way to help us"
Pros: The staff were very friendly and really went out of their way to help us.
Cons: I asked for a no smoking room and we didn't smoke in it, but there was a steady draught of smokey air coming in through the air con. the pillows and our clothes and hair were very smelly as a result.
