The Ballesta is perfect for travellers on a budget,it's location off The Gran Via is ideal,the rooms are spotlessly clean and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful.There are many cafes nearby for breakfast and the nearest Metro station is a short walk away. Do not hesitate to book this hostal, there is no downside.

Pros: Second stay. excellent location, good sized room and bathroom. good value and very helpful staff. 3 free computers in reception.
Cons: Ladies of the niht (and day!)are prominent in the neighbourhood but do not cause a problem.

totally the construction is quite new (sept.2011.).
generally satisfied.
Cons: To whom is looking for prostitutes - this is the best hotel. i had to say it over and over: "russo turisto - obliko morale!"
no breakfast. poor english of the stuff.
the acoustic is that i heard like somebody was been sneezing in another room as it would be in my one.

Pros: Nice and small hotel in good location. you could reach the full city walking from this hotel.
Cons: You could easily hear the noice from outside. as being said, hotel is located in the middle of "red light streets" but it didn't really matter.

Pros: Rooms clean and quiet. staff very helpful
Cons: Location is directly in red light area, with several sex workers plying their trade from early morning until the small hours. this may concern some people, perhaps with children, but those concerned were very restrained in their behaviour towards passers-by and it added colour to the area.

Pros: Good location, comfortable hotel, nice service
Cons: The hotel is really acoustic so from the room you can hear music from clubs,bars around hotel, people walking on the corridor, and cleaning service from 8am vacuuming on the floor. on the street aound hotel are standing some prostitute but they are not interacting if you don't approach them.

Pros: Excellent hotel which does what is says. great location in the thick of things.
Cons: Streetwalkers on the corners around the hotel, c/w shady characters. that said, no problems were encountered from them.

Pros: The staff were so helpful and kind they're english was excellent. we used the internet a lot and were able to print out directions.it was great.
