If you want to stay near a really historic site, Temple of Debod could be the answer for you. This historical site is a rebuild Egyptian temple, which was donated to Spain in 1968 as a thank you for Spain’s help in saving some historical temples while a dam was being rebuilt. The Temple of Debod was constructed in the 2nd century BC, and was later extended and part of it has since collapsed.
As much of the temple as possible was taken to Madrid to be rebuilt there, and it was opened to the public in 1972. It is located in a beautiful park, and is the only Ancient Egyptian piece of architecture that can be seen outside of Egypt - and the only one in Spain. The Temple of Debod in Madrid and the beautiful park where it is located have a lot to offer today's discerning traveler.
