Pamplona is the capital of Navarre, Spain and the historical capital of the Basque country. Bullfights are what made Pamplona famous and these continue nightly. At times you can tour the plaza del toros to watch students hone their bullfighting craft. The Museo del Navarra is showcases the area’s architectural and artistic heritage while the Museo Diocesano features works of religious art. There are three churches which are architecturally interesting, the Gothic Cathedral with its neoclassical façade, Saint Sernin, and Saint Nicholas, the latter two built in the 13th century.
