Puerto de Santiago is small yet offers quiet solitude on charming black sand beaches located on the largest of the seven Canary Islands called Tenerife. If you visit the port in July, you can enjoy the fiesta and fireworks to honor Our Lady of Carmen. A procession to the old harbor is made with a statue of the Virgin Mary. The statue is then placed on a boat which cruises from harbor to harbor. Old traditions honor the fishermen who have made their living out of Puerto de Santiago for generations.
