Tegueste is in the northern part of the Island of Tenerife one of the Canary Islands; it is the suburban area of Santa Cruz in Tenerife and has a population of just over ten thousand. It is a good place to go for a quiet weekend. Tegueste is not such a popular tourist area and Tegueste hotels welcome guests and sometimes have room for late bookings at the height of the season. Tegueste is the only area in the islands that doesn’t have an exit to the sea or coast line as the land is largely agricultural. If you are interested in science and history then it is worth visiting the Museum of Man and Nature in Santa Cruz; there is also the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts and the Military Museum. The shopping is good in Santa Cruz and the craft and clothes shops on the Plaza de España are worth seeing. There is also a market on Sunday in Santa Cruz and the Santa Cruz flea market is quite famous.
