Olivares Hotels and Accommodation
Just 16 kilometers outside of the city of Sevilla is the town of Olivares. In 2008 there were about 9,200 residents in the town, which is bordered by the towns of Albaida del Aljarafe, Villanueva del Ariscal, Sanlucar la Mayor, and Salteras. It sits along the Agrio River, a tributary of the Guadiamar River. Since it is so close to Sevilla, a budget Olivares hotel is incredibly convenient for seeing the city. Check on EasyToBook.com for the best cheap Olivares hotels available for your stay.
The town sits on an area that was once an ancient Roman farm and today there are still some impressive Roman remains. One of these is the aqueduct at Cerro de las Cabezas. It was used to carry water to the village of Tejada, which no longer exists. Another ‘vanished’ town in the area was Heliche. It was located outside of Olivares until 1843 and you can still visit the remains today. The road between Olivares and Gerena was once protected by a military presence. The Tower of San Antonio is still found on the road and was built in the 12th century.
