Visitors to the Cathedral of Seville will enjoy some of the best architecture out of the 1500's. This cathedral, also called the Catedral de Santa Maria de la Sede, or Saint Mary of the See, is the third largest church in the world and is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. The cathedral is also the burial site for Christopher Columbus. One of the most interesting of features of the cathedral is the retablo of carved scenes that depict the life of Christ. Visitors can visit many of the 80 chapels that are located here.
The construction of the Cathedral of Seville started in 1184. It is said that the Giralda, or the bell tower, is the most well known feature of the city of Seville.
