La Real Maestranza is a theater located in the heart of the historical center of the city. It has served as a Spanish Opera house and as such hosted a variety of well known composers and musicians. Visitors can view currently performing events by visiting the center or contacting them. Advance tickets are always recommended.
For those visiting the theater, more modern performances are likely, though traditional musicals and operas are still performed here. The theater was first opened in May of 1991 and has served as a royal theater since then, being opened by Her Majesty the Queen. The interior of the theater may be toured, at limited times during the week. Performances change often, though there is no set schedule for doing so.
