The industrial town of Teruel is the capital of the province of Teruel in Spain’s Aragon region. For history buffs and lovers of romance and good food, Teruel is a perfect spot for a vacation or just to get away for a weekend. Teruel has been the site of many battles, from Roman times, through the Middle Ages and in the Spanish Civil War. It is famous for its Mudejar towers that were built between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries. It has inspired poets and artists.

Another interesting site in Teruel is the Museo Provincial which has an exhibit of the ceramics for which the town is well known. Teruel also has the Acueducto de los Arcos, a 16th century aqueduct.
