Port of Valencia

When traveling through the Valencia area of Spain a trip to the Port of Valencia should be a must do item on your itinerary. Historically the original Port of Valencia was first considered to be opened in 1491, however it is believed that as early as the 6th century the area was a major port area. The relative openness of the area was the biggest issue in establishing a formal port prior to the late 14th century.
