Many people choose to stay in a cheap hotel near Torres de Serranos in Valencia during their stay, and this is because it is one of the most important historical sites in the city. Constructed as far back as the 14th century, these large guard towers were originally the main entrance to the city through the city wall. They look highly defensive, but really they were just used as a gate rather than to actually defend the city from invasion.

It is a fascinating monument, and if you want to stay in a discount hotel in Valencia near Torres de Serranos then you will have many options. The history of the towers is long, and between 1586 and 1887 it was used as a prison. In 1865 the rest of the city wall was destroyed, but these towers remained, and it’s lucky they did as they are so impressive. From the top you can also see some great views of the city, and inside you will be able to find lots of old ornaments as well as the Maritime Museum.
