Armintza is a small Spanish village in the area of Vizcaya on the north coast of Spain. It is 125km East of Santander, and 31 km north of Balbao. The clusters of stone houses which make up Armintza are arranged along three or four roads which all lead down to the quaint stone harbor. The natural harbor has been reinforced with several quays and breakwaters to protect the local fishing boats, and pleasure craft from the turbulent seas of the Bay of Biscay. Armintza is in the area of Vizcaya, pronounced ‘Biscaya” after the Bay of Biscay. It is in the autonomous Basque region of Spain and has two local dialects; Euskera (Basque) and Spanish.

The ancient farmland which surrounds Armintza is lush and green, with rolling hills and pleasant views out over the sea. There are lush, colorful gardens decorating the cottages and larger houses. It is an ideal location for a touring or walking holiday along the coast. The climate in this region can be changeable, but is generally warm and sunny in the summer months, with mild winters. This area is particularly popular with travelers as it is close to the main ferry port of Santander. Cheap hotels and accommodation is available in and around the town of Armintza from EasyToBook.com.
