Puppenhausmuseum Basel

With a massive collection of over 6000 teddy bears, dolls, and puppets, the Puppenhausmuseum is as much a monument to the art of puppetry and miniatures as it is to nostalgic. Throughout the museum, hordes of antique dolls and figures are set up re-enacting scenes of Swiss country life from ages past. The owner of the museum’s stated purpose is to renew in visitors the sense of wonder that they felt when playing with their own childhood toys and to demonstrate to them that that wonder need never fade, even as they grow older. In order to get a complete picture of the Swiss culture, a stop at this museum is practically mandatory.
