Kandersteg hotels and accommodation

Kandersteg is a quiet village in the Swiss valley of the River Kander, west of Jungfrau. It is at the north entrance of the 15 kilometer (9 mile) Lotschberg train tunnel. Kandersteg is a very popular ski resort. Whether you come here for a skiing vacation, or just to hit the slopes for a weekend, Kandersteg has pistes that are ideal. In the summer months guests staying in Kandersteg hotels can enjoy hiking and mountaineering in some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe. You can hike or take a chairlift up to Oeschinensee, a stunningly beautiful alpine lake. Visitors can also enjoy boating on another mountain lake called Blausee. In the village of Kandersteg itself there is a lovely little parish church that dates back to the 16th century. Kandersteg is also an excellent base from which to explore this part of Switzerland.
