City Center Adelboden

The town of Adelboden, inhabited by just over 3,500 people, is situated high in the mountains of Switzerland. Its picturesque appearance, overlooking the Engstligen River, fills the Adelboden hotels with visitors. Since its origins in the 16th century until well into the 19th century, this mountain town was all but inaccessible from outside, especially in the winter. Soon after the construction of a new road at the end of the 19th century, the town became a winter tourism destination--the first in the world.
