Faulensee Hotels and Accommodation

Faulensee is a very small village in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. It is on a hillside overlooking Lake Thun at the lake’s widest point – 3.8 kilometers (2.25 miles). This is a great place to make a stop during a vacation, or perhaps even stay for a weekend. Faulensee is also a good base from which to explore this part of Switzerland. Guests staying in Faulensee hotels can enjoy hiking, cycling, and swimming in Lake Thun. The village also has some very fine restaurants. Excursions on the lake are available. At nearby Beatenbucht visitors can see a cave that in the 6th century was the hermitage of the Irish monk, St. Beatus. Also not far from Faulensee is Oberhofen which has a 12th century castle that is considered to be one of Switzerland’s most romantic old structures.
