Olten Hotels and Accommodation
The small city of Olten is on the Aare River in the Swiss canton of Solothurn. This is a picturesque community, well worth a look during your vacation or even a stay on a weekend. Olten has a fascinating Altstadt (Old Town) that is accessible only by foot across the Alte Brucke (Old Bridge) which dates back to 1802. The Old Town is dominated by a tall belfry, all that remains of a Gothic church that was demolished in the 19th century. Guests staying in Olten hotels will want to visit the Kunstmuseum (Art Gallery) and the Historical Museum. Visitors can stroll along the waterfront and the street called Hauptgasse where there are many fine old historic houses. Pay a visit to the 17th century monastery church, and the 19th century Neo-Classical Stadtkirche. The latter is decorated with paintings by Martin Disteli.
