Chur is at the head of the Rhine Valley, and is the capital of the Swiss canton of Graubunden. Its origins go back to Roman times. This town is in “Heidi Country”, referring to the famous literary character. Whether you are here for a vacation or just a weekend, Chur has sites you wont’ want to miss. Chur’s biggest attraction is its cathedral. Construction on this spectacular mix of Romanesque and Gothic styles started in 1151 and was not completed until a century later.
