The small town of Scuol (Schuls in German) is in the Swiss canton of Graubunden. It is the twin village of Tarasp-Vulpera. Together they make up a large health resort complex. This is a place to which people come for an entire vacation, or just a weekend. Scuol has beautiful surroundings of majestic mountains and dense forests that make it very popular. Guests staying in Scuol hotels come for the mineral springs, of which there are about 20. Among the various beneficial properties of these springs, it is believed they are good for liver problems. Visitors also come here for skiing. When not skiing or taking the waters, you can walk around Scuol’s Old Town. Above the village is a fortress called Schloss Tarasp that dates back to the 11th century. You can get there by bus, or hike up a road that will take you across the Punt’Ota (high bridge). Other activities to enjoy here are hiking, snowboarding, tennis, hang-gliding, rafting and canoeing.
