Bevaix is a small village in the Neuchâte region of Switzerland near Lake Neuchâtel. The village was a settlement as far back as the Bronze Age and a priory was built there circa 998AD. Relics of boats have been found in the region that have thrown light of the boat building techniques of Gallo-Roman times. The village changed dramatically when the railroad was built in 1860, and again in 1900 following the drainage of what was then surrounding wetlands, making the area more habitable and signaling the way for domestic development.
