Horn is a town of 2,429 inhabitants in the Swiss canton of Thurgau. It is located on the south shore of Lake Constance. The earliest records of its existence date to the 12th century. Throughout the 19th century, Horn was a village, with a population of less than 700. Up until the invention of steam travel, Horn's economy was based mainly around fishing, weaving, and other skilled crafts. Like many Alpine Swiss villages, Horn became a spa and health center around the middle of the 19th century. In a publicity maneuver, the town had briefly added "Bade" (bath) to its name. The first luxury hotels in Horn were built around that time.
The clear air, blue lake water, and Alpine scenery of Horn continue to attracting tourists today. The main points of interest in Horn include the Horn parish church, built in 1911, and the Horn interfaith chapel, built in 1877. Another point of interest is the Horn central harbor.
